    Liz Farmer is a reporter for the Washington Examiner covering the economy and development in the D.C. region. She also contributes sports business updates to the Examiner’s sports blog. As a former athlete and present-day sports nut, writing about the business of sports is near and dear to her heart.

    You can catch Liz every Friday afternoon on Baltimore Fox Sports Radio’s Sports with Coleman giving insight on the latest sports business news. She has also been a repeat guest on the Comcast Morning Show (WNST), WBAL and Baltimore's NPR affiliate, WYPR.

    Prior to The Examiner, Liz covered sports business, retail, tourism, advertising, and media for The Daily Record in Baltimore. In 2007 she covered the Maryland General Assembly for the state’s newswire, Capital News Service.

    Liz is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and remains a devoted Forty Niners football and Giants baseball fan. Her love of history brought her to Washington, D.C. where she studied AmericanAt Tayata project in Oaxaca, Mex. history, film and television production at The George Washington University.

    After working for Discovery Communications Inc., Liz jumped at an opportunity to be the photographer for a five-month archaeological project in rural Oaxaca, Mexico in 2004. She returned to the States for graduate school and received her Master of Journalism in 2007 from the University of Maryland.
